笹野一刀彫は山形県米沢市の南部にある笹野地区で
古くから伝え守られてきました。

小さな刀のような刃物一刀で木を削る
日本でも珍しい技法です。

商売繁盛の縁起ものである
鷹をかたちどった「おたかぽっぽ」のほか、
鳥や動物などの様々な作品があります。

材料の伐採～乾燥～削り加工～絵付けまで
自ら行っておりますので数はそれほどでませんが、
その分一つ一つに心を込めて手作りしています。

これまでの伝統品にとどまらず、今までにないもの、
自身が思いつくまま気ままに作ったものを
このショップでは取り扱っています。

This is the shop of Kazunori Sato, a Sasano-Ittobori.

Sasano-Ittobori is a craft that has been preserved for generations
in the Sasano, located in the southern part of Yonezawa City,
Yamagata Prefecture.

It is a rare technique in Japan that involves carving wood
using only a single blade—resembling a sword.

I handle every step of the process myself—from felling
and drying the timber to carving and painting.

The most famous item is "Otaka-poppo," a hawk-shaped wood carving
cherished as a lucky charm for business prosperity.

I also create various other lucky charms and auspicious items.
